BARTONVILLE, Ill. – A Peoria-area banking institution is closing one of its branches, giving technology as one of the reasons.
Redbrand Credit Union says it’s closing its Peoria location at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie May 26, moving everything to its location in Bartonville, including all the Grand Prairie employees.
Redbrand president Kelly Pearce says the decision was made after studying years of foot traffic, profitability, and the cost of maintaining the Peoria office.
What’s more, Pearce says, they’ve recently implemented mobile deposit along with their ARM system, saying most of what Peoria customers did there, is now being done remotely.
“Our members should know that Redbrand is a safe place to save their money,” said Pearce, in a news release. “The Credit Union has sound financial policies and receives high ratings annually from regulators for safety and soundness practices and management of risk. Redbrand is well capitalized and in solid financial position to meet the saving and borrowing needs of its members.”
