PEORIA, Ill. – Not long after a particularly violent couple of days in Peoria, Illinois State Police say they did their part to try and suppress violent crime.
Troopers say they held a special detail in Peoria County Friday through Sunday, targeting what they say were high crime areas as identified by Peoria Police.
They say 114 traffic stops resulted in eight people being arrested on a total of nine felony charges.
Three people were arrested on warrants.
Troopers say two guns were seized, as were 387 grams of cannabis, and 71 grams of other controlled substances.
State Police say they used both Peoria Police, and air and ground operations.
