CHILLICOTHE, Ill. – The Summer Camp music festival has, after 22 years, officially become a different music festival that will also focus on the arts.
Jay Goldberg Events says what they are calling “Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie” will take place at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe May 24th through the 26th, with a pre-party May 23rd.
Founder Ian Goldberg says in a news release, “The spirit and community of Summer Camp” will remain, but with what he calls a boundary-pushing event.
“Solshine” – Goldberg says – has been part of the company’s “Make a Difference” program along with sustainability efforts, and this elevates it.
Music acts are expected to run the gamut, from jam bands to bluegrass, but food, craft vendors, and other activities are also planned.
“I wanted to recognize that in the name by not calling it a festival but a Reverie full of music and arts, such that we all can create our experience together – and have that build intentionality in our actions once we leave,” said Goldberg, in a news release.
The lineup will be announced soon, and officials say tickets will include camping opportunities.
