SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois State Board of Elections is keeping former President Donald Trump on the state’s primary election ballot.
According to FOX News, the bipartisan board voted unanimously to that end Tuesday morning.
The decision is considered a win for Trump, who is facing similar legal challenges in other states, and comes despite a former judge urging Trump be removed for allegedly causing an insurrection January 6, 2021.
The other legal challenges are being led by mostly Democrat-run states.
The Trump campaign and supporters have claimed the motive is election interference.
Trump’s admission on the Colorado ballot is expected to be taken up soon by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Illinois’ primary is March 19.
