PEORIA, Ill. – Two people have been arrested on numerous counts of animal cruelty charges.
Peoria Police says 60-year-old Eileen Wood and 54-year-old Kevin Schuch were arrested Thursday.
They are facing 27 counts of cruel treatment of animals and 27 counts of violation of owner duties under humane care for animals acts.
Peoria Police were called to their South Peoria home at around 8:45 A.M. for a welfare check, finding 27 dogs in the home that were “extremely malnourished” in unlivable conditions.
Animal control came to take the dogs to PCAPS for treatment.
Wood and Schuch were taken to the Peoria County Jail.
