PEORIA, Ill. – Arson appears to be to blame for a fire late Sunday night in Peoria.
Fire Battalion Chief Mike Ralston said crews were called to a home on W. Columbia Terrace, between N. Bourland and Machin Avenues, just before 11 p.m., finding a fire intentionally set outside the home.
Firefighters put the fire out within minutes, preventing it from spreading into the home.
A fire investigator classified the fire as arson. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Peoria Fire Department.
No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
