MAPLETON, Ill. – First responders were called to a wooded area of Lake Camelot early Tuesday morning after an intoxicated man called 9-1-1, saying he was in the woods and couldn’t get out.
Firefighters and Peoria County deputies found the man near a ravine in the area of W. Lake Camelot Drive just before 4 a.m. with the help of an app and drones.
The man had fallen, injured his leg and couldn’t walk. He was carried out of the woods, then taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center by ambulance.
Mutual aid to Logan-Trivoli firefighters and the Sheriff’s Office was provided by Bartonville, Limestone and Timber-Hollis Fire Departments.
