TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – A contractor for Caterpillar has died after an incident at the company’s Peoria Proving Ground facility.
A CAT spokesperson says the incident happened on Wednesday, and that they are working with authorities as an investigation continues.
Caterpillar says counselors will be onsite for anyone that needs them.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of a contractor at our Peoria Proving Ground facility on Aug. 7 and are working with authorities as the incident is investigated. We will have counselors onsite for our facility employees, and our thoughts are with the affected family, friends and colleagues,” a Caterpillar spokesperson said.
No other details have been released.
