PEORIA, Ill. – A Decatur man has been found guilty for a West Peoria homicide two years ago.
A Peoria County jury on Thursday found 24-year-old Lamentae Turner guilty of First Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon after a three-day trial.
Turner is set to be sentenced on July 3rd.
The shooting occurred in the early morning hours on January 22nd, 2023 at the Casey’s on Farmington Road.
It claimed the life of Stashaun Wheeler, who was shot in the parking lot.
Turner was arrested at a residence in Decatur a few weeks later.
