PEORIA, IL — A shed and its contents are a total loss after a fire in Peoria on Sunday evening.
Fire Battalion Chief Larry Carter said crews were called to the 2500 block of W. Flint Street around 5:40 p.m., finding heavy smoke and flames coming from a shed in a home’s backyard.
Firefighters put the blaze out within 15 minutes. While the fire was spreading to a nearby tree and phone pole, crews were able to prevent any further damage to the home and utility equipment nearby.
A fire investigator determined the cause of the fire was accidental. No injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at $20,000.
