PEORIA, Ill. – You’re invited to help make the community a more beautiful place to live this Saturday, May 30th, as the Greater Peoria Sanitary District hosts a community trash clean-up day.
The event will take place on land adjacent to the Kickapoo Creek near Pottstown.
Limited parking will be available at the intersection of Illinois Rt. 8 and Reservoir Road on a large gravel pull-off. Carpooling is recommended.
Bottled water, sandwiches, and clean-up gear will be provided. You’re advised to wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and insect repellent. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The cleanup day is sponsored by the Friends of Kickapoo Creek, Friends of Rocky Glen, Heart of Illinois Sierra Club, and the UI Extension Service.
