PEORIA, Ill. – A pair of arrests have been made in connection to the death of a man found in a Peoria East Bluff home.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 26-year-old Portia Stokes and 29-year-old Michael Jansen are both charged with First Degree Murder in the death of 41-year-old David King. A detention hearing for Stokes and Jansen will take place on Friday.
King’s body was found by police on Monday after a welfare check at the home in the area of Seneca and California.
Prosecutors say King was reportedly found inside a freezer with cuts on his body, and inside long enough that his body was frozen.
Jansen allegedly told police that he and Stokes killed King, but later changed his story to say Stokes killed King.
