PEORIA, Ill. — CEFCU is expanding its corporate headquarters in Peoria with a new 58,000-square-foot annex.
The credit union held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for the new building, which will be located next to its existing corporate headquarters.
The annex will include additional office, meeting and common space, with more than 290 desks. Plans also call for a 9,570-square-foot training center capable of accommodating up to 144 people.
CEFCU says the expansion is intended to provide more space for its workforce, training and collaboration. The credit union currently has more than 1,040 employees.
“This groundbreaking represents an important investment in CEFCU’s future,” CEFCU Board Chair Kavita Sachdev said. She added that the project reflects the organization’s commitment to Central Illinois.
CEFCU President and CEO Matt Mamer said the additional space will support employee training and growth while helping the credit union serve its members.
The annex was designed by Farnsworth Group, with PJ Hoerr serving as the project’s contractor. Construction is expected to begin following the groundbreaking.
