PEORIA (25News Now) – October is Manufacturing Month, and with that, Caterpillar is celebrating with a new construction technology gallery at their visitor center in downtown Peoria.
The new gallery, titled “Building the Future,” focuses on using technology to solve challenges in the work field.
For visitors who experience it, they’ll be able to see a vision link system, autonomy machines, and new examples of cat safety.
“What’s great about this exhibit is you can come in here; you can be fully immersed as a caterpillar operator,” said Director of Community Relations, Henry Vicary.
“You can see how autonomy works in some of our remote sites. Some of the folks that come in here will never be able to go to a remote site in Wyoming, but you can see it, and you can see how autonomy helps our customers in those kinds of sites.”
The Caterpillar Visitor Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a free day on October 17th.
The exhibit is $7 or free for those under 12 years-of-age, with military and senior discounts.
