GROVELAND, Ill. — A 20-year-old Pekin woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in Tazewell County.
Just after 2:30 p.m., the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office was called to an accident in the 17000 block of Springfield road for a two vehicle accident.
Charles Hanley, the Tazewell County Coroner, said that Kaitlyn “Katie” Guard of Pekin was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was the only occupant of her vehicle.
Hanley said her death was caused by multiple blunt force injuries.
The occupants of the other vehicle, a 45-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, were transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
