PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria County Sheriff’s authorities are identifying a man wanted in connection with an incident where he allegedly swerved his vehicle at a deputy trying to evade a traffic stop.
According to preliminary details from Sheriff Chris Watkins, it all started early Thursday on North Western Avenue at West Rohmann Avenue.
A male subject fled the traffic stop, allegedly struck a parked car and swerved at a deputy, then sped off.
A brief pursuit ensued up the road to Main and University, where officers say they lost contact with the suspect.
Deputies say they then found his vehicle abandoned in a neighborhood along West Mac Queen Avenue.
The suspect is identified as 39-year-old Terrance T. Mason.
He’s wanted on charges of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, driving with a revoked license and other traffic charges.
