PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police Chief Brad Dixon has named Erin Barisch Assistant Chief Of Police. Barish is a 25-year veteran of the Peoria Police Department. For the past two years, Barisch has led the Criminal and Special Investigations Division. Under his leadership, the City of Peoria experienced a reduction in violent crime and achieved a 100 percent homicide clearance rate in 2025.
Other promotions include the promotions Lieutenants Brock Lavin and Stevie Hughes to Captain. Lavin will assume command of Patrol Operations, while Hughes will oversee Special Events and Operations.
Dixon says “Assistant Chief Barisch, Captain Lavin, and Captain Hughes have each demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout their careers, and I am confident they will continue to advance our mission of enhancing public safety and serving the residents of Peoria with integrity and excellence.”
