PEORIA, Ill. – The kids with “Kicking Cancer in the Knolls” are back with another fundraiser for St. Jude this weekend.
Last year, they raised $66,000 for kids with cancer at St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
“It’s nice to know you’re helping someone get better,” 11-year-old Sawyer says.
He tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan Show” they hope the Peoria community will help make this year’s event even bigger than last year.
In addition to their lemonade stand, there will be treats, raffles, and a dunk tank at the corner of Bigelow and Hollyridge this year.
“Yeah, I got asked…Sawyer! I politely said no, because I’m going to be out of town,” WMBD’s Greg Batton said.
About 15 kids and their parents that all live in the Knolls are behind the fundraiser for St. Jude that has grown year by year.
“Kicking Cancer in the Knolls” is being held Saturday (July 25) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
