PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria County Treasurer Branden Martin has announced that more than 6 million dollars in interest has been earned on the County’s investments in his first year in office.
The Peoria County Treasurer is the County’s chief investment officer and is responsible for receiving, keeping, and disbursing County revenues and public money.
Funds are invested as per the Treasurer’s policy, and include items such as CD’s, insured cash sweep accounts and bonds.
Martin says the county earned a total of $6,210,496 on those investments in the last 12 months
