PEKIN, Ill. – Pekin Community High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a swatting incident.
Pekin Police says the lockdown was due to a threat regarding a potential bomb and weapon inside the building.
Police say the building was secured, and an investigation revealed the threat was due to a swatting.
Pekin Police says even though the lockdown has been lifted, there will be an increased police presence for the remainder of the day out of precaution.
