WEST PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people were found dead inside a West Peoria apartment Friday afternoon.
Deputies responded to the 1500 block of North Pierson Avenue around 1:30 p.m. after a landlord reported finding two people deceased inside the residence.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult man and an adult woman dead inside the apartment.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, preliminary findings showed no signs of trauma or evidence of forced entry.
Investigators confirmed the man lived at the apartment, but the woman did not.
The identities of the two individuals have not been released.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of both deaths following autopsies and toxicology testing.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains active and ongoing.
