PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – A Peoria County grand jury has indicted a man arrested last month for allegedly being in possession of child sex abuse materials.
42-year-old James White of Watseka was indicted on one count of grooming on Tuesday.
White was arrested on April 14th by Chillicothe Police, after a joint 10-month investigation with Watseka Police and the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office.
During the execution of the warrant at a residence in Watseka, detectives seized multiple electronic devices and arrested White.
At the time of his arrest, White was charged with Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, Grooming, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Indecent Soliciation of a Child, and Dissemination of Harmful Material.
Court documents following the grand jury on Tuesday allege White ”used an internet service to attempt to seduce, lure, or entice a person he believed to be a child.”
White is due back in court on Wednesday.
